Tartan Bowler

Happy Friday, everybody!

I've had this OOTD on the back burner for a good couple of weeks now, so I'm relieved that I finally have the time to sit down and write it up!

If you're not already aware (although I don't know how you couldn't be), tartan is huge for Autumn/Winter 2013. I first communicated this through my trend report and, ever since, I have been on the lookout for the ultimate tantalising tartan piece.

Well, I finally found it! On Ebay, of all places! Rihanna once wore a tartan skater dress when she performed on X Factor and I found this copycat version online.

I'm so in love with it!

The weather is getting colder, which means I have to layer up the dress for it to be practical as well as aesthetically pleasing!

The first time I wore it, I kept it classic. I teamed it with a white shirt, black opaque tights and a black patent belt to define my waist, channelling smart casual chic.

I also added the bowler hat and frilly berry socks from my birthday haul with my cut out boots - for added street style kudos.

Then I threw on a chunky black cardigan and a vintage-looking satchel with snakeskin detail - and I was good to go!
